Welcome back story time Today's read aloud is BAD DAD MOVES by Jacob Eckieberger

I have to ask about your dad to see if he's like mine.

When music's playing anywhere, does he act weird each time?

A beat begins...

Tap Bounce spin!

He wriggles in his shoe.

He calls it dance but that`s a stretch.

I call it...

BAD DAD MOVES.

A funky bass. Add in some drums. 

He's lost when he starts to sing.

His shoulders quake. 

Shimmy. Stomp. Shake.

It's so embarrassing.

Now I've seen dancing.

This isn't it, no matter what they say.

I'm so afraid his bad dad moves won't ever go away.

Sitting down won't stop his moves. 

Our van becomes his stage.

He rocks guitars and grabs the mic...

I have to look away.

No one wants to dance along he doesn't seem to care .

He'll gladly dance all by  himself while everybody stares.

" OH THIS IS CLASSIC!!"

His hips will SWAY.

He'll reach out for mum's hand she'll SWAT and turn laugh him away

But that won't stop his dance. His moves will show up 

anywhere there's music with a groove.

In elevators... 

Grocery stores...

Our neighbors BBQ...

A Coffee shop...

My favorite park... 

My birthday party too!

I tried to stop his bad dad moves but it'sjust no use. 

So listen pal ,I'll share with you a remedy to use.

Since there's no way 

To stop his moves...

You should join in too!

Make up a dance that's all your own.

Jump! and swirl and slide!

Pump your rock fists twist and shake give belly drums a try.

Go Wild! Get loud !

Don't be too shy.

You are in good company.

Cause after all you're with your dad who dances terribly.
