On Friday, the Bank of Korea released an analysis of recent trends in the global semiconductor market that began to rebound from the start of last year and said that South Korea’s chip exports are expected to continue to grow until the first half of next year.

 

The central bank predicted that demand is likely to expand from AI servers to more general servers such as those in mobile devices and computers as they need to be updated with new AI functions. But with chip firms struggling to expand their capacity to produce advanced products, the BOK stated that further investment in domestic semiconductor production could play benefit the South Korean economy.
