Universities resume classroom teaching

 

Universities are resuming some classroom teaching as social distancing is being eased amid the coronavirus epidemic. Universities have offered only online lectures since March, which has led to a spate of demands for refunds of tuition fees.

Korea University announced Thursday that it will offer both online and offline lectures from May 11. Other universities in Seoul are following suit. Hangyang University and Dankook University have already started offline lectures in some subjects. Seoul National University is preparing to resume offline classes from May 4 starting with subjects that require hands-on experience or lab experiments. According to the Korean Association of Private University Presidents on Thursday, 37 universities across the nation will let students return to classrooms from April 27, another 60 on May 4 and 25 on May 11.
