Concert to Promote a Good Night’s Sleep

According to a Korean adage, “Sleep is the best medicine.” Unfortunately, many people in modern society are suffering from a lack of sleep or even insomnia. Indeed, Koreans reportedly get the least amount of “shut eye” among people in OECD* countries.

To address this issue, a special concert will take place for the first time in Seoul. The event will provide soothing music and various programs aimed at promoting restful sleep.

“The Best Dream Concert” is being organized by the event management company, Nominom, and will be held overnight on an islet in Hangang River. The concert will last for 12 hours, commencing at 7 p.m. on May 2nd and concluding the following day at 7 a.m.

The concert program will feature live music performances by singer-songwriters YunDDanDDan and Lee Jin-ah, cellist Won Min-ji, and pianist Yoon Han. Additionally, a light yoga class will take place to help people unwind before bedtime.

Then, as the evening turns to night, the concertgoers can drift off into dreamland while listening to white noise,* which has been known to improve sleep quality.

The venue for the concert is Sevit Floating Island, an artificial islet and cultural complex located on the Hangang River near Banpo Bridge.

From there, participants will enjoy the river view while snugglingin comfortable mattresses and resting their heads on soft pillows. They will take in soothing melodies that will help to create a tranquil atmosphere within the concert hall.

“The Best Dream Concert will provide not only a pleasant aural experience but also promote restful and sound sleep,” a concert organizer said.
